Doubt and Faith

Matthew 8:26
And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a dead calm.

Are there situations in your life where you have doubts? Let’s face it, there are certain things in life that we just don’t feel secure about. The mere thought alone tends to give rise to feelings of uneasiness or inadequacy. It may be a relationship, career path, or even a health concern. The fact that you do have doubts may indicate you do not know God as well as you should. Remember, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6).

Jesus spent time with His disciples so they could experience the awesome wonder of His presence. During their journey, Jesus allowed them to see His teaching, miracles, and His resurrection. As you involve yourself in a consistent, growing relationship with Jesus, He will reveal Himself to you as well. God wants to build your understanding of Him until your faith is sufficient to trust Him no matter what comes your way. Regardless of the issue, circumstance or situation the moment you turn to God with a genuine commitment to trust in Him, He will reveal Himself in a convincing way even in the midst of your most terrifying concern. At that critical moment, Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea and the scripture says there was a dead calm.

God wants to do something in you that rids you of doubt and gives a calmness to trust in Him.

  1. Wow! I like this word. At points it is hard to have faith, especially when things are not going your way or it seems like there is no way out. “God increase my faith in you!”
